Codex Alimentarius
By Ed Fashing

Codex Alimentarius is used by the World Trade Organization (WTO) as part of the trade agreement that will impact food safety, pesticide use, herbicide use, availability of herbs, and world health. Some think the adoption of CODEX in January 2007 will produce a billion world deaths. On the web site of Dr. Rima E. Laibow, M.D. is more information. www.healthfreedom.org

CODEX will permit the use of presently U.S. restricted pesticides like: aldrin, hexaclorobenzene, chlordane, and heptachlor. Two of my friends were poisoned by them-one was a chemist for a chemical company and the other was my neighbor, a farmer.

WTO and CODEX rules are such that if a food import problem arises, if one of the countries follows the many Codex rules (about 11600) that country automatically wins the dispute. Codex is championed by pharmaceutical, medical and chemical industries’ lobbyists as promoting consumer protection.
