Dear Mr. Morris:

I’ve read the book “Unforgiven” and the more I think about it the more I wonder how— is there a way— to get all presidents of farm organizations and commodity groups to read this book? Wilkens couldn’t do it — I can’t do it—-it’s going to take a big force if Congress can be woke up to the need of parity.

The way the book “Unforgiven” reads and as I read Congressional Record of the forties and fifties, Farm Bureau was always against giving the farmers a parity price. But as I have read papers the past year, Farm Bureau seemed to be softening it’s policy some. They may be more cooperative? If only it’s members would read “Unforgiven”.

Maybe this question could be discussed at the Convention.

I didn’t feel good at last years Convention on February 15th. I had some heart trouble, but the last three times I’ve been to the Doctor I’ve been given a good report. So I hope that I’ll be able to make the Convention.

So, if it’s the Lord’s will, I’ll see you in January
