Dear Mr. Walters,

I finished reading the second edition of the book “Unforgiven” several weeks ago. A sad report of the failing of our so-called leaders of the majority of our Presidents and congress at least since Wilson to our present day.

I used to attend the N.O.R.M. Meetings in Kansas City, then my wife became an invalid and I quit attending. She passed away October, 1995 and as N.O.R.M. left Kansas City I’ve been attending A.A.M. meetings in Oklahoma City, as both N.O.R.M. and A.A.M. are for 100% of parity for the farmers. For if the farmers could only get parity, the whole economy would prosper.

I met the former United States Senator Arthur Capper in 1948. I’ve had two visits with him. He was very concerned about the family farmers. I sure didn’t grasp his full concern. Now, with reading your books, attending N.O.R.M. and A.A.M. meetings, the full light has come on. But how can we ever get these farmers and city folks to understand parity and what it would do for our economy? Are the majority of our farmers and city folks really educated? Do they read? Or do they just watch that “idiot box” that’s slowly bringing them down to the gutter? Lord have mercy.

Now back to “Unforgiven”, the books I’ve read that you have written, the articles you write in Acres., USA. Has any of the other farm organizations ever woke up? Woke up to the need of parity? Our small rural towns, even second class cities, many slowly dying, yet does their leadership read? How can they be woke-up to co-operate with the family farmers? Right here in Kansas, two Republican Senators and three Representatives—have any of them ever read Senator Capper’s Biography or any history of Carl H. Wilkens research on 100% parity for the good of this Nation’s economy?

I don’t believe our forefathers ever thought of what is happening to the family farmer or they would have put in our Constitution that the Secretary of Agriculture should be elected by the farmers of America. The way it is now he is appointed by the president (is it with the approval of the corporations?).

I just wish there was some way that all Presidents of farm organizations, all commodity groups and every Senator and Representative of these United States could be made to read your book “UNFORGIVEN”.

I’m 89 years old, I’ll probably never live to see it, I hope and pray that some way this Nation can be woke-up to adopt Wilkens idea of parity, before it’s too late.
